vindictive, anti-American political persecution designed to punish J6 patriots forever — even after pardons.

These are companion bills (S.3582 by Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA), introduced Jan 6, 2026 on the 5-year "anniversary"; H.R.7711 by Rep. Deborah K. Ross (D-NC), introduced Feb 25, 2026). Both titled the "No Rewards for January 6 Rioters Act". They prohibit any federal funds (including the Judgment Fund for settlements) from being used to compensate, settle with, or refund fines/restitution to anyone prosecuted for Jan 6 involvement — even if later pardoned. Collected fines would instead go to the Architect of the Capitol for "repairs." No victim compensation fund allowed for them either. (A related Whitehouse/Padilla bill targets assaulters specifically.)
